Free Kinder Hours

*The FAK committee has resolved that the last hour of the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday sessions for the Dragonflies and Frogs groups will be the full fee paying hours for our four year old families. This means that if families elect to only attend the “Free Kinder” scheme hours, they will need to collect their child one hour prior to the published scheduled finishing time for each session, eg Dragonflies children will need to be collected at 1.50 pm on Mondays & Tuesdays and 12.20 pm on Wednesdays if you are electing to opt into Free Kinder hours only. Whilst we understand some families may consider this option, we strongly encourage families to attend the full 18 hour four year old program at FAK to allow children to get the most benefit and consistency during their time at FAK in their final kinder year before beginning at school.

Session Start Times

Are you worried about your child missing out on their kinder experience because of school drop off times?  All of our sessions start outdoors and we generally do not commence our indoor activities, mat time or yarn circle until at least an hour into the session.  Spending time outside at the start of the sessions helps children to settle, connect to the natural world and increases children’s creativity, problem solving and imagination.

term fees - 2023:

Term Fees include program costs, incursion levy and equipment levy (levies payable at commencement). Please note the fees below are your “out of pocket” costs per term after government funding subsidies.

3-4 year olds* Free

4-5 year olds* $330 per term (2023)

The unfunded (and therefore optional hours) for the 4 year olds will be the last hour of each day. Unfortunately there are no child care subsidy discounts for sessional kindergarten.

Additional voluntary contributions (requested of all families):

* A voluntary contribution of $400 per annum covering resources, materials and extra-curricular activities and incursions.

* A voluntary contribution of $150 per year for building and maintenance.

All enrolments are managed by the Boroondara Kindergarten Central Enrolment Scheme (BKCES).
